Getting ready for the shoot.

Preparation Information

Allow 45min to 1.5 hours for your photographic session. Possible a little longer if you have a newborn baby.

Getting the family ready…

Do your best to ensure you are well rested and relaxed on the day. If your portraits are going to be outdoors apply a non-greasy sun block well in advance to ensure it is absorbed into your skin. For mums and older girls style your hair and makeup prior to your session. Have children’s hair styled and ready to go. You may want to change your baby clothes just before the session (if applicable) TIP -keep in mind that pinning hair away from the face may be a preferable option if out doors. (Especially on a windy day) Give yourself plenty of time to get ready so that you have an enjoyable dayJ   Clothing- what to wear??? Here is your chance to shine, bring out all your best clothes. All the items that are on the hangers as you don’t get to where them every day (or maybe you do) However, whatever style you go with make sure you are comfortable. When you look at the images you want to feel great about the way you look. So if your son or daughter really loves the tutu or pirate attire go for it …at lease for a few images anyway. When you are selecting your attire choose simple, classic clothing, plain solid colours always work well. If you are after a classic look stick with neutrals. Try and stay away from too many patterns and different colours, steer clear of large prints and logos on your clothing. You may want to co-ordinate everyone together this can be very effective.eg wearing only three colours like brown, tan and white. Choosing the right clothing for your portraits will ensure that the focus is on you, not your busy clothing and you will feel great every time you look at your images.   Things you might need if away from home. ·       Drinking water ·       Sunscreen ·       A picnic blanket if unable to sit on the ground (wet) ·       Umbrella if looks like rain ·       Touch up lippy or gloss ·       If you have any special toys or items that you would like photographed with your children bring them along as well. ·       Newborns may have a special heirloom blanket or bonnet you would like included in the photo’s ·       If you would like to change out fits throughout the session bring change of clothes.   What if I need to re-schedule or we are sick You are not going to be at your best if you or your children are ill.  If you need to transfer your session fee to another date, please give at least 24hrs notice. If weather or other adverse conditions prevent us from creating our high portrait standards we will suggest an alternate location or we may reschedule the appointment. We are happy to reschedule but please note that many times of the year we are booked months in advance but we will endeavour to fit you in as soon as possible.      What happens after your session?  Approximately a week after your session, you will be able to view your images in an online gallery for seven days. From here you can choose your order within this time. You just select and order the ones you are happy with. If there are many images you can’t part with, you may consider an album or portrait keepsake box.   However if you do need some help in choosing which products are right for you we will be in touch to schedule a consultation viewing and ordering session. Approximately 25- 50 images will be presented to you in colour and some may be converted to B&W if it suits the image. At your ordering session you will be able to view your images on a calibrated monitor and will be able to view samples of our products e.g. Canvas and Acrylic wall mounts, albums and photo blocks   You should have already received our comprehensive price list and we will be happy to assist you with any of your enquires.   Due to storage constraints we are unable to hold files. Please make sure you are familiar with all available on the pricelist and allocate areas in your home where you may like to hang items so you are prepared for your ordering session. Ordered images will be kept on file for 6 months. All reorders incur a $15 processing fee after your initial order has been processed.   Please make sure all decision makers are at the ordering session as all sales are final. Once the order has been paid and sent to print no changes can be made and no refunds will be given. In the unlikely event that the product is faulty please contact us within 7 days of receipt or 24hrs from receiving it and we will exchange/ repair (or reprint) it.   When will I receive my prints? Your order will be ready for collection approximately 1-2 weeks after order is placed and paid. Some custom product like albums can take up to 6 weeks. We will email you once order is ready to organise collection.   Portrait agreement All images are copyrighted by dudools photography.
